As part of the „Val Martello - Strawberry Days“ from 15th June to 14th July 2024, culinary delicacies all about strawberries can be tasted in various restaurants in Val Martello. All eyes are on the small, sweet, red fruit. During the entire Strawberry Days, an interesting programme awaits you, where you will get to know this berry better.

La fragola è la "regina" dei piccoli frutti. Il gusto delle nostre fragole di bosco è insuperabile. Dal punto di vista botanico la pianta della fragola è un arbusto. Il frutto è costituito in realtà da un ingrossamento carnoso del ricettacolo floreale. Le fragole variano in grandezza e forma a seconda della specie. Possono essere di colore più chiaro o inclinare al rosso scuro, avere maggiore o minore consistenza ed essere quindi più o meno succose. È molto difficile fare una stima precisa delle varietà esistenti, anche a causa dei notevoli mutamenti che ne caratterizzano la produzione. Dopo la mela, la fragole è uno dei frutti più amati. Questa predilezione può essere facilmente spiegata. Accanto al loro aroma inconfondibile le fragole si contraddistinguono infatti per la particolare ricchezza di vitamine e di sostanze minerali. Grazie al loro alto contenuto di calcio, sodio, potassi, fosforo e ferro le fragole sono considerate persino un buon rimedio contro la gotta e i reumatismi, mentre la medicina popolare le ritiene utili contro l'anemia.
