Val Martello in red: in the mountain valley is once again all about strawberries. As part of the „Val Martello - Strawberry Days“ from 27 th June to 12th July 2026, culinary delicacies all about strawberries can be tasted in various restaurants in Val Martello. All eyes are on the small, sweet, red fruit. During the entire Strawberry Days, an interesting programme awaits you, where you will get to know this berry better.

SUMMER EVENING FESTIVAL

The Martell Young Farmers’ Association is organising a summer evening festival this Saturday at the Trattla Leisure Centre to kick off the Strawberry Weekend. There will be plenty of food and drink on offer, musical entertainment from “Sauguat”, followed by a party with a schnapps stand.

Martell brass band, followed by light music,
a strawberry variety tasting in the afternoon,
games and fun for younger guests
and a taster session at the climbing hall and mini-golf course.

The south tyrolean Martell Strawberry Queen
The first South Tyrolean Strawberry Queen, Daniela Rinner, was crowned at the Schmelzerfest in 1999. The following year, in June 2000, the first South Tyrolean Strawberry Festival was organised. Since then, the Strawberry Festival has been held every year, with the exception of the years affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The Strawberry Queen traditionally holds office for three years and then hands over the crown to the new queen at the Strawberry Festival. The current Strawberry Queen, Elisa Abart, will remain in office until 2028.
The main role of the South Tyrolean Strawberry Queen is to act as a brand ambassador for the Martell strawberry. She represents the brand and the products of the valley’s farmers to the outside world and draws attention to their uniqueness.
At official events, she is invited by the other product queens from South Tyrol, who in turn are also present at the Strawberry Festival.
